Yarnspinners

In April 2004 Throwstar hosted ‘Yarn-Spinners’. It was an eclectic evening of acoustic hip-hop, poetry and story-telling. Our aims were to open up a wide range of people to the beauty and power of spoken language, to incite creative dialogue between Christian and secular wordsmiths and to raise money for Saltmine's 'Food and Emergency Appeal' for Bulgaria - www.saltmine.org/easteurope

Performing were Canadian rapper/storyteller Buck65, Emmy winning writer/poet Nigel Forde and a number of local poets, including nervous wreck, Babylon-baiting Beloved and sonic masseur, Michael Stork. It ended up being a profound night for performers and listeners alike, with headliner Buck65's story-telling marathon feeding off the laughter and applause of the audience.
