Lobsters of Freedom Jason Ensa has a slew of superb songs under his belt. 'Cherry Pie' could have appeared on a 70s-era Stevie Wonder record. 'Don't You Wanna Be Loved?', 'The Water Around Me' and 'It's Been A Long Time' would be considered classics had they been written by Neil Finn or Prince. The quality of songs and strength of the harmonies made Danielle’s role as backing vocalist in Jason’s band unusually fun. For 2 years she performed with The Lobsters of Freedom, singing rock’n’roll songs, blues, soul, reggae and acoustic ballads. Her friend, Lucy, who she sang with in Jo Hamilton's band, roped her into joining the Lobsters. Their biggest gig was opening up for R&B star Jamelia at Birmingham's open-air New Year's Eve celebration 2003, playing to thousands of freezing Brummies.
