Ross Spencer is an exceptional singer/songwriter. As eccentric as 'Mellow Gold'-era Beck , as melodically compelling as Jeff Buckley, his performances in 1998 and 1999 helped kick-start our movement. Joel had been enamoured with Ross' songs for years and was desperate for them to be recorded properly. In 1999 Ego Mute was recorded, though it was
officially released in 2005 on Colour Records. Fortunately songs like these don't age.

Ross will be releasing new material in 2006.
