Angelday
In December, Danielle, Ross and Joel helped scholar/poet Andy Redman lead
an alternative carol service in Trinity
Church Bournville. Angels, astral images, tragedy, revelation, a song
about labour pains, traditional carols, poetry, revisiting the day the
weary world had been waiting for. We marvelled in the unstoppable force
of God's love. This was Throwstar's first collaboration with local church
artists.
excerpt from Angelday poem 'Suddenly
massive messengers from who knows where target a tiny town
There’s no hiding those shiny gowns, their breath is an almighty
sound
Speaking what the prophets for centuries had been writing down -
Although the parchments are slightly brown this might astound
It gets exciting now!
See, despite the blinding light we’ve finally found
Unavoidable voices of joy that are poised to destroy every icy frown
Revealing heavens secret to a planet underneath it’s striking clouds
The smallest revelation ends up frightening crowds'
