I'm married to the wonderful Rob Blakeney. I've been recently recording my acapella album VERY slowly. I'm currently enjoying playing a bit o' bass in the Benjamin Blower band and I like to crop up here and there on the UotK albums with clarence the clazza and my trusty old vocal chords. If you like Where's Wally, here's something fun: The first person to spot all of my mini appearances on Zang material to date wins a........clarinet reed...a Cadbury's Creme Egg?...or something negotiable on winning. We'll call it 'Where's Selly and Clarence'. Maybe there should be a competition to come up with a title too.....? Answers on a post card please.

10th Dec 2012
Taken from a rich festive season last year, we have some ye olde styling from the 13th or 14th century by Greybeard and Selina Blakeney.
6th Dec 2012
Day 6, we are chugging along nicely now...
Next up is the opening track from the 2008's Free Christmas Album - 'A Zang Christmas'
Greybeard and Selina Blakeney perform this sweet rendition of Winter Wonderland. Watch out for the Triangle ding, it's a great moment.

2nd Dec 2012
This track sort of slipped under the radar back in 2010. Mainly because it only got concieved, written and recorded on the 20th December.
Selina Blakeney - on her way back from the laundrette - slipped over on the festive ice and was inspired to write this track.
So, for day 2 of the Zang Advent Calendar we have A Christmas Tale by Selina Blakeney
1st Dec 2012
This will be the last ever Zang Christmas, and so the Zang family will be counting down to the day of the Saviour's birth (or the day we celebrate it over here anyway), with 25 of Zang's favourite Christmas songs from the last decade.
Today, the 1st of December, we bring you Sleigh Ride
- a record from University of King, way back in 2004. I, for one had had this song in my mind for some time. It's got a great family feeling to it. Some beautiful extra vocals on there from Selina Blakeney (who was rescuing a lot of UotK work from nightmarish atonality at that time), and listen out for the solo at 2:20... It's quite something.
25th Jan 2012
In describing his reworking of Selina Blakeney's beautiful choral version of The Killers' "On Top", Ray had this to say:
"I feel like I have just added a moustache to the Mona Lisa, and a white silk shirt and some shades."

Hello folks! I'm very excited about this new website, doesn't it look smashing! And now I get my very own bloggy wog. Yay. I'm also excited about the upcoming releases to accompany it....including my acapella double EP which I started working on about...um....6 or 7 years ago! Crikey, I'm a bit of a tortoise where music is concerned it would seem. Along with the EPs there will be 2 videos to feast your eyes on, one involving lots of lovely snow and one created by Joel the Custodian and Evie Wonder (a father and daughter collaboration-beautiful!)-dates for all this to be confirmed....
.....then sometime next year will be the release of....MY ALBUM! In case you couldn't tell. I'm thrilled from the top of my head to my tippy toes about that. Mostly because, the process of making it has been so far, so much fun-and a new experience for me! I'm used to recording things very scrappily by myself, and although it's technically a Selina Blakeney album, produced by Greybeard, I think it's a real mixture of both of us and we have really enjoyed working on the songs together.
In other news....I have been becoming a bit of washboard fanatic..so much so....that I forced my husband to dress up as a washboarder....cruel I know....would you like to see.....?

The Blakeney's just cannot stop... they indulge their penchant for yuletide melody unashamedly.
After suffering a Home Alone-esque-coccyx-bashing fall on the ice, and hanging out with the locals down at the laundrette, Selina was filled with overwhelming sense of Christmas spirit and penned this free track for all to hear...
6th Dec 2010
We heard an iconic track, we made a remix. That then spawned another remix, a remix of a remix if you will.
Then it all went crazy - behind the creators back - suddenly remakes and covers were appearing, the track was alive!
Here they all are in - The Zang Family Tear Down And Build Up The Custodians Sacred
This genre hopping release contains work by Benjamin Blower, University of the King, Fiction Fight, Greybeard, Kevin Toms (Ickberg, UotK), The Army of the Broken Hearted and Selina Blakeney.
We at Zang love this!
Availble at on CD from the Zang Online Store
