Barrowclough
My name is Barrowclough.
Apparently, I used to be called JonnyDamaj and sport a gaggle of well groomed dreadlocks which flailed down to my buttocks. In this guise, I rocked many stages with the mighty ‘Michaelis Constant’ (or so I am told) and added my own breed of verbal dexterity to the albums ‘Foreign Correspondence’ and ‘Gondwanaland’. I apologise for my slight vagueness but I have no memory of these events. My first memory is staggering out of a leafy glade in about 2004, muttering something about bright lights with the strong tang of chorizo on my lips. From that point onwards, I have demanded that I should be referred to as ‘Barrowclough’. With a new sense of purpose, I embarked on my debut solo album ‘Life on the ground’ (which has been described by my wife as ‘a pretty good album but it would have been better if you’d got more other rappers on it’) and now I am collaborating with Greybeard and Benjamin Blower on an untitled Zang project. As for my general outlook: I want to make music that uncovers the myth of human independence and points you towards the rope that has been thrown into the pit. I also want to ride snares that snap your neck from your shoulders, rock b-lines that make your stomach churn and generally keep it hardcore! Yes yes y’all.
